RIZZOLI CELEBRATES PRIDE MONTH

This month at Rizzoli Bookstore we are excited to be celebrating the pride and resilience of our LGBTQ+ community. Pride has long commemorated the 1969 Stonewall demonstrations in NYC, against anti-LGBTQIA+ discrimination. It’s a celebration of LGBTQ+ individuals that has expanded into a month-long celebration of reflection, education, diversity, visibility, inclusivity, and acceptance, into the common goal of equality for all. We honor authenticity and the freedom to be one's true self, free of societal boundaries or discrimination. We recognize those who have trailblazed through the fight for these freedoms.
This pride we want to highlight the voices of writers, poets, activists, and authors who helped to shape the narrative of our world, and actively pushed against these barriers to carve out a literary space for queer stories.
We invite you to visit us at Rizzoli Bookstore, to view and shop this year's June “Pride” window, featuring a bookseller curated collection of new LGBTQ+ titles!

Candy Book of Transversal Creativity: The Best of Candy Magazine By Luis Venegas, for the past decade Candy Magazine creative director Luis Venegas, has captured the transversal identity through it’s fashion editorials. From an archival perspective, Tom of Finland: Made in Germany exudes the confident sexualtity that helped shape gay iconography in the 20th century. Highlighting his roots in Hamburg, that changed the course of his career forever, where some of the most iconic of his sketches were drawn and exhibited, shifting his early comic works into triumphant art pieces. It led to further milestones in Tom’s artistic journey and this book is it’s testament. A comprehensive and in-depth look into the art and earliest exhibitions that made Touk Laaksonen, Tom of Finland.
Although we celebrate this year with a new perspective of virtual events, and social distancing, this year's “Pride March” continues on June 27th in New York City. We hope to see you there!
