Aline Kominsky-Crumb and Robert Crumb make an odd couple in both life and art. As part of the underground comic scene, they pioneered an autobiographical style, expressing this tension on paper in crazy stories they would draw jointly. With a boundless delight in depicting content forbidden in the mainstream, free from taboos, the two transformed their own lives into a comical drama. The differences between men and women, the radical social upheavals of the 1970s, and a few tangible neuroses play major roles.
