Dóra Maurer

Created in close association with the artist and published to accompany a 2019 exhibition at Tate Modern this book examines the career of Hungarian artist Dóra Maurer (b. 1937), spanning over four decades of her experimental practice from the 1960s to the present. It surveys her early graphic works, photographs, and films. This book also explores the evolution of her "displacement" canvases and most recent large-scale paintings that examine how geometric forms are affected by color and color perception. This richly illustrated publication reveals Maurer's persistent experimentation with production processes and her innovative take on traditional techniques.
